Data Governance
Ownership, policies, data quality and a data catalogue that make data trusted, aligned with Saudi Arabia’s NDMO standards and Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law.
Learn moreWe put trusted numbers in front of decision makers: dashboards, reports and analytical portals on governed data, and the data platform beneath them, for government and enterprise teams in Egypt and the Gulf.

Business intelligence (BI) turns the data an organisation already holds into dashboards, reports and analysis that managers use to decide. Data analytics goes a step further: it explains why something happened and estimates what is likely to happen next. Both depend on the same thing, data that has been brought together, cleaned and defined once.
Sustainable Software Solutions designs and builds analytics and BI from Cairo for government entities and enterprises in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the other Gulf states: dashboards, reports, analytical information portals and self-service BI. Beneath them we build the data platform: pipelines, a catalogue and a governed lakehouse that integrates with the systems you already run.
A number earns trust only when everyone computes it the same way. So we agree what each indicator means and where its data comes from before any chart is drawn, and we build on governed data, drawing on the data practice of our parent group, Jadara Solutions.
What it covers
Three things people see and the three that make them reliable.
We agree each KPI with its owners: its formula, its source and how often it is refreshed, so two reports never disagree.
Executive and operational dashboards and scheduled reports, built on the BI platform you already run, such as Microsoft Power BI or MicroStrategy.
One portal that gathers the reports, and governed data sets that let analysts build their own without waiting for IT.
Pipelines collect data from your systems, clean it and load it on schedule, with checks that stop bad data before it reaches a report.
A data warehouse or a governed lakehouse with a catalogue, integrated with your traditional systems, not built beside them.
For volumes that outgrow a single database, the group’s experience spans the Hadoop ecosystem, ELK and cloud architectures.
Choosing a platform
Three ways to store data for analysis. The right one depends on your data and your questions, not on fashion.
Structured data, modelled in advance for reporting. Strong for financial and operational indicators that must always reconcile.
Data of any shape kept in low-cost storage as it arrives. Flexible, but hard to trust without governance.
A lakehouse keeps data in low-cost, open storage like a lake and adds the management features of a warehouse, such as transactions, versioning and auditing, so one platform serves both reporting and data science.
We start from the questions you need answered and the systems you already run, and integrate with them before proposing anything new.
How we deliver
Five steps, each ending in something you can see, test and sign off.
STEP 01
We list the decisions the numbers must support and review the systems that hold the data.
STEP 02
We agree the indicator definitions, the data model and the layout of the first dashboards.
STEP 03
We build pipelines and dashboards in stages on your real data, so each stage can be checked against known figures.
STEP 04
We go live with access rights in place and hand over to the people who will use and maintain it.
STEP 05
We watch how the reports are used, add indicators and improve data quality at its source.
Questions & answers
Business intelligence reports what has happened and what is happening now, through dashboards and reports on agreed indicators. Data analytics is broader: it also explores why it happened and what is likely to happen next, using statistics and forecasting.
A lakehouse is a data platform that stores data in low-cost, open storage like a data lake while providing the management features of a data warehouse, such as transactions, versioning and auditing. It lets one platform serve both reporting and data science.
We build on the BI platform you already run, such as Microsoft Power BI or MicroStrategy, and where there is none we help you choose one against your requirements. The indicator definitions and the data model matter more than the tool, and they move with you if the tool changes.
Not all of it. You need an owner and an agreed definition for every indicator you publish, and quality checks on the data behind it. We start with that minimum for the first dashboards and widen governance as the reporting grows.
Yes. We build on the data, cloud and analytics platforms our clients already run, and integrate data lakes with traditional information systems, so earlier investments keep their value.
Self-service BI lets business users and analysts build their own reports and dashboards from prepared, governed data sets, without asking IT for each one. It works when the data sets are trusted and well described.
